Columbine is blooming. I thought these were weeds at first.
I’m really ready to get the garden rolling along in the spring. A few weeks ago I built another raised garden bed that doubles our usable planting space. I’m already scouting for seeds and supplies - now is the time to score those deals.
I get to use two new tools next season too. My parents gave me some old windows they didn’t need after a recent renovation that will work perfectly overtop a new cold frame I’m going to build during my Christmas holiday. The cold frame will allow me to start my growing season earlier, and with a kid on the way we definitely need to squeeze as much as possible from the garden.
The other fun toy is a composter. It takes about 90 days to generate some decent compost so I won’t see any good stuff from it until about July.
How did I get into gardening all of a sudden? Maybe I’ve finally grown up…maybe I don’t want to pay for veggies anymore…OR because its really rewarding. All three?
